What’s in a name? A lot, actually. We want our space to carry a moniker that gives a clear picture of the kinds of programs we offer and the diverse groups we serve.
While we called this project the “East Bay Community Center” when we first started it a few years ago, we are now calling it the “East Bay Community Space” to indicate that our main purpose is to provide a location for community programs and events.
We spent a good deal of time as we got the Community Space up and running thinking about possibly changing our name. We got lots of great ideas from our supporters, but none of them seemed to fit. In the end, we decided that “East Bay Community Space” tells who we are. We’ve decided to keep that name moving forward.
