SEPTEMBER 27TH: Herbs for a Fresh Fall

As the leaves begin to change hues and the air cools, it marks a shift of the seasons. This month we will explore plants to support us as we adjust to the slower pace, cooler weather and darker days of fall.

In this class we will focus on herbs for centering and calming our nervous system as we shift to a season well suited for nesting and exploring creativity. We will explore herbs to support our respiratory system as our lungs become more vulnerable to infection, dry days and cool nights. Some of the herbs we will be working with include lemon balm, milky oats, passionflower, chamomile, elecampane, mullein and thyme.

Make your own herbal face steam and take home a blend to use at home.

OCTOBER 25TH: Herbs for Magic

Autumn is a time of intense energetic transformation: ripe for connecting with the spirits and our magical selves. This month we will explore the subtle and potent energetics of plant medicine.

In this class we will focus on how to use plants for protection, intention, and cultivating consciousness. We will explore practices for honoring our ancestors and connecting with the spirits through dreamwork, creating altars, smudging and plant essences. Some of the herbs we will be working with include mugwort, cedar, lavender, thyme, yarrow, sage, mullein, reishi and motherwort.

Make your own magic potion to take home.

NOVEMBER TBA: Herbs for Cold & Flu

Staying well during cold and flu season can be challenging, especially this time of year. This month we will focus on herbs for stimulating your immune system into gear when cold and flu are near.

In this class we will be chopping, dicing and preparing a batch of fire cider. This kitchen folk remedy is perfect to have on hand as we head into winter. Learn how to support your immune system using herbs and spices commonly found in the kitchen and garden. Some of the plants we’ll be working with include garlic, ginger, onion, cayenne, lemon, rosemary, thyme and more.

Make your own jar of fire cider to take home.

DECEMBER 27TH: Adaptogens

Plants can be a powerful tool for replenishing and nourishing ourselves during challenging times. This month we will dive into the incredible category of plants known as adaptogens, which support the body in dealing with stress response.

In this class we will focus on herbs for building energy and resilience to stress. We will be whipping up a batch of zoom balls: herbal energy treats filled with yummy nourishing adaptogens. Some of the plants we will be working with include astragalus, reishi, holy basil, licorice, eleuthero, ashwagandha and more.

Prepare a batch of delicious zoom balls to enjoy and take home.
