Join us to march from Oakland Tech to Berkeley High against sexual assault and harassment with a large focus on intersectional feminism. The sexual assault and harassment in Bay Area schools needs to stop. Enough is enough.
Young women, particularly Black women and people of color need to feel safe in our own schools and communities. It is time to mobilize this conversation among young people.
Food and water will be provided and Mic will be open to all to speak if wanted.
Please wear RED and/or BLACK. WE BELIEVE YOU.
Please wear a mask, bring water, snacks and maintain 6 feet of distance at all times. More safety tips below.
—East Bay DSA safety recommendations: —-
1) Shelter-in-place and complete isolation are the only definite protections against COVID-19. If you are high-risk or suffer from chronic respiratory conditions, or are in close contact with somebody who is, we highly advise you consider sitting these protests out.
2)Bring a change of clothes! Change your clothes and shoes before re-entering your home if you have loved ones you do not want to expose. Immediately wash your clothes at the highest heat possible.
3)Shower immediately when arriving home.
Wear face coverings, only well fitting and properly tightened N95 masks will keep COVID-19 out, but anything helps. This is not about protecting yourself, but protecting your neighbors from from you!
4)Consider wearing gloves, either disposable ones that can be thrown away right after the action or ones that can be immediately washed or wiped down. Gloves will also encourage you not to touch your face.
5)Wear goggles (helps with the virus)
6)Practice physical distancing at least 6 feet apart
7)Stay calm and de-escalate tension with others around health practices. Encourage others to wear masks. We want to keep ourselves safe from the virus!
