East Bay Community Dance w/DJ Técnico

*We are a ‘boosted-only‘ event (see exceptions below). Masks are optional and most dancers choose to forego them. See below for details*
*If you buy a ticket and can’t come due to Covid illness, we will offer you a refund (minus processing fees) if requested before 12pm on Tuesday. Since there is so much uncertainty right now, which is affecting the viability of our events, some of our ticket holders have elected not to receive a refund, and instead to make a donation of their ticket price.

For now, there will not be food or drink served at East Bay Community Dance. However, The Well Organic Kitchen is perfectly situated next door, and serves drink and food until 10pm!
Tickets are $20 to $22 pre-sale (or cash/Venmo at the door)
**There is limited capacity at EBCS, and we have sold out almost every time, so it is imperative to get advance tickets!
East Bay Community Dance is an all-vaccinated event. EBCD is pleased to offer a dance space for those who desire a fully-vaccinated dance experience. This means that you must have received the second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, two weeks before you attend. There are three ways to show your vaccination status:
1. Bring your completed vaccination card to the dance.
2. Go to https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov to get an electronic version of your vaccination record, and show it at the door. You might want to save a screenshot of the record your receive on your phone.
3. Upload a photo of your vaccination card via our Vaccination Record Upload Form at https://forms.gle/2NaXSvNrx3Vr9JU37.
Once we have reviewed your card, we will add your name to our list of dancers who have been vaccinated and no longer need to show proof of vaccination status at the door.
People who are unable to show proof of vaccination will not be admitted.
We look forward to dancing with you!

DJ Técnico
Técnico, formerly known as Karishtan, originally hails from southern California with roots in renegade desert parties, progressive house and electro. He has been involved in the music and dance scene for over 20 years and has played at Ecstatic Dances, legendary underground gatherings, and conscious festivals.
Through his musical evolution, he began producing original bass-infused electronic music. He most recently relocated to the Bay Area after a transformative few years of living and being immersed in the mana of Hawai’i.
Técnico is known for carefully orchestrated sets that merge influences from around the world. He seamlessly weaves together world rhythms, bass, trap, ethno/Latin beats, electro, and four on the floor as well as live elements to create a dynamic head to toe dance experience that takes dancers into the deepest layers of themselves and unlocks ecstatic bliss from inside out.
Técnico has toured and collaborated with Rik Sharaj from Dub Kirtan, Mystic Pete of Tonehenge, the Starwalkers and Hello Tecnico. Some of his most recent production projects are available for download on iTunes and Spotify.
Técnico is also a dedicated yoga and meditation practitioner which has led him to co-produce Walking Dharma Podcast, a yogic philosophy based podcast.

**Guidelines
· EBCD will Continue.
We will hold East Bay Community Dance this Tuesday and in future weeks as long as conditions don’t worsen significantly and Alameda County doesn’t change its regulations and guidance.
· Events are Potentially Risky.
We believe everyone attending should be aware that large gatherings like EBCD are not without risk. Attendance is a choice. Mask-wearing is optional, but encouraged if it helps you to feel safer. Most dancers at this event choose not to wear a mask, but everyone is welcome to wear one.
· Cases Among the Vaccinated are Generally Mild.
Cases being spread among vaccinated people with normal immune systems are generally very mild, which is why we feel it’s okay to hold the dance. However, even a mild case of covid requires 10 days of isolation, and Covid can be passed to unvaccinated and immunocompromised people with serious consequences. So every attendee at EBCD should evaluate the risks for themselves.
· Refunds
If you don’t think you are going to be able to come, please don’t buy a ticket! We often sell out, so it is possible to sell your ticket on the Facebook event page the day of usually. We do offer limited refunds for those who cannot come because of a Covid infection. Message us at [email protected]
· Stay Home if You’re Even Slightly Sick.
Please do not attend EBCD if you have any symptoms that could be related to Covid-19, including cough, runny nose, congestion, fever, chills, aches or nausea.
