East Bay Community Dance w/Ra So

***We are a ‘boosted-only‘ event (see exceptions below). Masks are optional and most dancers choose to forego them. See below for details***
This is an indoor, *vaccinated and boosted only* dance event sponsored by EBCS and produced by Dan Zemelman (DJ DZ).
*If you buy a ticket and can’t come due to Covid, we will offer a refund (minus processing fees) if requested before 12pm on Tuesday. However, since there is so much uncertainty right now, which is affecting the viability of our events, some of our ticket holders have elected not to receive a refund, and instead to make a donation of their ticket price.
Dancers of the Bay Area,
We thank you all for being a part of this awesome experience! We are truly so glad that we all get to benefit from this dance medicine right now!!!

East Bay Community Dance is an all-vaccinated event. EBCD is pleased to offer a dance space for those who desire a fully-vaccinated dance experience. This means that you must have received the second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, two weeks before you attend. There are three ways to show your vaccination status:
1. Bring your completed vaccination card to the dance.
2. Go to https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov to get an electronic version of your vaccination record, and show it at the door. You might want to save a screenshot of the record your receive on your phone.
3. Upload a photo of your vaccination card via our Vaccination Record Upload Form at https://forms.gle/2NaXSvNrx3Vr9JU37.
Once we have reviewed your card, we will add your name to our list of dancers who have been vaccinated and no longer need to show proof of vaccination status at the door.
People who are unable to show proof of vaccination will not be admitted.
We look forward to dancing with you!
Ra So
With an ever-present attention to the pulse of the dance floor, the music he plays is an auditory expression of the love, compassion and emotion we collectively experience, day-to-day. His original productions and the tracks he selects from other artists are filled with soaring melodies and driving rhythms that evoke intense emotional responses from the dancers he plays to.
Playing Ecstatic Dance events since 2009, he’s been blessed to connect with Ecstatic Dance communities in Oakland, Big Island (Kalani & Garden Temple), San Francisco, New York, Boston, Salt Lake City, Reno, Fairfax, Nevada City, Sebastopol, Santa Cruz, & Palo Alto.
Using a sixth-sense for melody, contemporary technology and a knack for the patient, anthemic build, Ra So mines ancient ideas, harnesses tear-jerking melodies, and through pulsating rhythms, he brings depth to the dance, empowering dreamers, lovers and dancers with soundwaves reverberating with emotion. oExpect a journey through many layers, genres and tempos. And prepare to be engaged through mind, body and spirit in waves of rhythm and bass, harmony and melody, and auditory love…
· EBCD will Continue.
We will hold East Bay Community Dance this Tuesday and in future weeks as long as conditions don’t worsen significantly and Alameda County doesn’t change its regulations and guidance.
· Events are Potentially Risky.
We believe everyone attending should be aware that large gatherings like EBCD are not without risk. Attendance is a choice. Mask-wearing is optional, but encouraged if it helps you to feel safer. Most dancers at this event choose not to wear a mask, but everyone is welcome to wear one.
· Cases Among the Vaccinated are Generally Mild.
Cases being spread among vaccinated people with normal immune systems are generally very mild, which is why we feel it’s okay to hold the dance. However, even a mild case of covid requires 10 days of isolation, and Covid can be passed to unvaccinated and immunocompromised people with serious consequences. So every attendee at EBCD should evaluate the risks for themselves.
· Stay Home if You’re Even Slightly Sick.
Please do not attend EBCD if you have any symptoms that could be related to Covid-19, including cough, runny nose, congestion, fever, chills, aches or nausea.
