New Mural at EBCS in Memory of Jen Angel

Local artist Dudash has just completed a new mural on EBCS’s 55th Street frontage in memory of Jen Angel. Jen was the owner of Angel Cakes Bakery in West Oakland, a long-time anarchist organizer, one of the original tenants of the Red Door apartment located at EBCS, and a huge supporter of EBCS’s mission. She died tragically as the result of a botched robbery attempt in February. The mural, inspired by graffiti artist Banksy, shows a protester hurling a tray of Jen’s much-loved cupcakes, and it fills in a hole created when a car drove into EBCS last year. We are pleased and proud to be able to share this mural with the community in Jen’s memory.
