Joey Chang aka CelloJoe is the world’s only beatboxing, long-distance bicycling, looping cellist. He is the wildest beatboxing cellist in the west. By combining cello with beatboxing, he has created a unique genre: Classical Hip-Hop. CelloJoe records live on stage with a loop pedal and produce intricate tapestries of harmony, melody, and rhythm. His beatboxing (vocal percussion) and funky cello grooves form a rich soundscape for intelligent lyrics and his music spreads love, joy, laughter and conscious vibrations. Amy Rogg is a Bay Area based teacher/facilitator working on transforming the human spirit through holistic arts. She inspires people to step outside of conditioned beliefs so that they can find their vulnerability and authenticity as a means awakening and restoring their true passion and self-worth. Amy will be leading a workshop on Improvisation is an art form that is used to empower, transform, and cultivate higher connective states. It’s about showing up, listening, working with fear, trusting the present moment, saying yes, and owning who you are–exactly as you are. This class will incorporate expressive movement, vocal play, somatic sensing, and group games so you can go beyond perceived limitations and be seen in your vulnerability. We will illumine our pathways of emotionality, connection, spontaneity, playfulness, focus, and present moment awareness.
