This free two-hour workshop addresses issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community, and gives students the opportunity to practice their skills in realistic scenarios against a mock assailant. This workshop focuses on personal safety skills as well as verbal self-defense strategies to address situations that may arise in everyday life, including boundary setting to prevent stranger and acquaintance violence. Students additionally learn and practice skills to process and manage their own adrenaline, and will leave with an enhanced toolkit for self-care. This class is a safe space for LGBTQ+ identified participants of all genders age 16+.
